At Fruit Haven, we remain steadfast in our commitment to safety, respect, and cooperation among all members. However, we regret to report another serious incident that took place on March 1, 2025, involving the same individual responsible for the June 18, 2024 attack.
This time, the attacker physically assaulted a 73-year-old co-owner, causing injuries. In addition to this violent act, he destroyed three security cameras, broke the newly constructed kitchen door and older bodega door lock, and stole valuable items including routers, a laptop, and other property. The victim’s phone was also thrown into the river in an attempt to destroy evidence during the altercation.
Fortunately, the attacker was arrested, and the authorities have issued a restraining order against him. A legal restriction has also been placed, prohibiting him from entering the community area.
This ongoing pattern of aggression is deeply concerning, and we appreciate the swift action taken by law enforcement. Fruit Haven was founded on principles of mutual respect, cooperation, and security. Acts of violence and destruction have no place in our community, and we will continue to take all necessary steps to protect our residents.
